Scenario: an improper stroke and striker alone

Two conditions must be established before using this case.

Illustration for Scenario: an improper stroke and striker alone
Illustrative incident only. Read every assumption below.

Assumptions

The striker is pocketed alone by an improper stroke. This is not a queen-cover, pre-contact break or last-piece scenario.

Rule summary

Rule 72(b): the turn ends; two own carrommen are returned, one as due and one as foul penalty. Unavailable pieces require Rule 72(c).

Read the illustration

The red annotation indicates that the stroke itself needs evaluation. A drawing alone cannot establish whether the real stroke was improper.

Review question

Describe the observed action that made the stroke improper. If you cannot establish that fact, do not apply this case simply because the striker entered a pocket.
